NoHo Senior Villas is a 49-units residential building for seniors with special needs. It is located in the North Hollywood arts district which has been redeveloped into a vibrant, mixed-use, transit-oriented urban center in the San Fernando Valley. Located on a quiet street near the Metro station, the project vision is for a protected but open building where at-risk seniors can build stable lives in a community-oriented setting.
The C-shaped plan of residential floors surrounds an ample courtyard separated from the street by a one-story community room, allowing sunlight and air to penetrate the building. Stepped massing engages the street and respects the mix of building typologies on the block. A roof top patio features gardening plots of the residents. The project is LEED Platinum certified.
