Fire Station 84 includes a 20,000 SF fire station and 6,000 SF apparatus storage building on a two-acre site. The spaces are organized to minimize emergency response time, allowing firefighters and paramedics to move quickly from within the main station building to the apparatus bays.
The design of the station provides comfortable and efficient living and working environments for the firefighters, who make the station their second home. Public and private uses are separated into two zones: the private, which includes dormitories, locker rooms, kitchen and break rooms, and the public, which includes the offices, conference room, and training room.
The project is LEED certified and includes several sustainable features including daylighting, recycled materials and water-efficient landscaping.
