The Rapallo and San Marco Apartments are adjacent projects on 5th Street in Santa Monica. Each building contains three levels of subterranean parking, 50 one and two-bedroom units and ground floor retail space. Both projects are distinguished by full lot length, 10-foot wide pedestrian passageways, which connect street to alley, and provide public landscaped open space in the downtown urban setting. Paved in varying shades of terrazzo, the passageways are lined with colorful tiled planters and water features.
Rapallo features tan glazed brick with black accent bands, and San Marco is clad in two shades of Trespa siding. The buildings are unified by weathered brown metal roofing and siding, complementary colored exterior plaster and steel tube trellises.
