Adjacent to the Adams Normandie Historic Overlay Zone, the Wisconsin III Apartments relies on traditional Craftsman architecture to fit into the neighborhood.
The third in a series of low-income housing developments by the owner for this South Los Angeles neighborhood, the project consists of 26 townhomes and flats. The plan focuses around a landscaped courtyard with a play area and large community room. The buildings facing the street are two stories to complement the scale of the adjacent structures; the central building housing the community center is three stories. Painted cement board siding, exposed rafter tails, trellises and a muted color palette combine to make the Wisconsin Apartments a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
