Challengers Boys & Girls Club

Founded in 1968, Challengers Boys and Girls Club serves over 5000 children in South Los Angeles each year. Our work for the organization began in 1996 with the renovation of the existing facility, a former grocery store, into dance and weight-lifting rooms, and construction of a new attached education building.

The expanded facility brought classrooms for science and art, as well as a library and computer room. A large multi-purpose space for performances and community functions is supported by a commercial kitchen. New play rooms for different age groups connect to double-height hallways and stairways, designed to be fun spaces for maximum interaction. Outside is a landscaped courtyard and lunch area.
